For the revamped 2015 series, a selection of famous faces join the cast to explore the lives and times of some of history's most Rotten Rulers.

2 years after the original 5 series ended in 2013, the BBC announced its revival. The show returned, revamped with a new format; each episode would take an in-depth look at a different historical ruler.

A largely new cast and production team assembled and six of Britain's top comedy talents guested as a historical ruler; Lorna Watson as Boudicca, Ben Miller as King John, Kevin Eldon as William the Conqueror, Rowan Atkinson as Henry VIII, Tom Rosenthal as King Alfred and Kathryn Drysdale as Cleopatra. Four original stars reprised their roles from previous series; Simon Farnaby as George III, Jim Howick as Napoleon and Winston Churchill, Sarah Hadland as Queen Victoria and Lawry Lewin as Oliver Cromwell. New cast member Jessica Ransom completed the line-up as Mary Queen of Scots.

Although a different format, the show retained much of its identity, not least with Rattus Rattus returning to host.

Series 6 aired 12 half-hour episodes and 3 highlights specials on CBBC; the first shown in February 2015 to mark the Magna Carta's 800th anniversary and the rest following from May to August 2015.

Crooked King John & Magna Carta

A special about King John and Magna Carta, starring Ben Miller. After a rap battle, John annoys the barons and agrees Magna Carta at Runnymede.

Awesome Alfred the Great

Watch Alfred argue with his older brothers then defeat the Vikings using his cunning hit-and-run tactics, summoning the spirit of Ed Sheeran.

Young William, Duke of Normandy, quarrels with Harold Godwinson about who should be king of England, before bashing the English and taking the crown.

This episode follows Mary, Queen of Scots, as she stumbles from being a young girl in Scotland to Elizabeth I's public enemy number one.

Naughty Napoleon

We follow Napoleon as he rises from humble beginnings to be the emperor of France, bashing most of Europe along the way and ultimately meeting his Waterloo at, well, Waterloo!

Horrid Henry VIII

Rowan Atkinson stars as the young King Henry VIII as he struggles with his boring dad, before becoming king and going through wives like most people go through toothbrushes.

Crafty Cleopatra

Egyptian Queen Cleopatra clashes with her brother, seizes power and hooks up with great Roman leaders Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.

Gorgeous George III

King George III goes from a young unpopular king to a much-loved figure, and the team give their unique insight into the American Revolution.

Bolshy Boudica

British Queen Boudica turns against her Roman masters and unleashes her wrecking ball on Colchester, St Albans and London.

Wily Winston Churchill

Following Winston Churchill from being a young soldier in India during the time of Queen Victoria, through the First World War, to victory in World War II.

Series 6 Episode 11

Tricky Queen Vicky

We meet young Vicky as she becomes queen aged only 18, marries her true love Albert and has to put up with the open sewers at the not-so-luxurious Buckingham Palace.

Series 6 Episode 12

'Orrible Oliver Cromwell

Oliver Cromwell rises from obscurity, challenges King Charles I in the English Civil War and ultimately orders his execution. Elsewhere, we meet a bunch of oddly named Puritan soldiers.
